Nvidia Corp. CEO Jensen Huang has announced its plan to invest about $150 billion annually in Taiwan, positioning the country as the โ€œepicentreโ€ย of the AI revolution.

Nvidiaโ€™s investment in Taiwan has seen a substantial increase over the years. โ€œFourย years ago, five years ago,ย Nvidia was spending about 10,ย 15 billion dollars a yearย in Taiwan. Now weโ€™reย spending 100, going to 150ย billion dollars in Taiwan eachย year,โ€ Huang stated during the launch celebration in Taipei for the chipmakerโ€™s planned Taiwan headquarters at Beitou Shilin Technology Park on Wednesday, reported Reuters.

โ€œTaiwan is booming,โ€ Huang said, adding that the new site will employ around 4,000 people. โ€œโ€ฆThis is whereย the chips come, packagingย comes, this is where theย systems are made, this isย where AI supercomputers were created.โ€

Nvidia's new headquarters, set to begin construction this year and open by 2030, will place the company closer to key manufacturing partners, including Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co Ltd. , Foxconn , Wistron , and Quanta Computer .

This announcement also comes on the heels ofย Advanced Micro Devicesโ€™ย declaration of its intention to invest more than $10 billion across the Taiwan ecosystem to expand strategic partnerships and scale advanced packaging manufacturing for next-generation AI infrastructure. This trend of tech giants investing heavily in Taiwan highlights the countryโ€™s growing importance in the global AI ecosystem.
