Texas A&M baseball lands All-Conference INF out of the transfer portal

Texas A&M head coach Michael Earley continues to reload the roster, securing a second transfer commitment of the current portal cycle . With star hitters Gavin Grahovac and Caden Sorrell expected to begin their professional careers in the MLB Draft, the Aggies entered the offseason needing proven production and on Monday night, they landed exactly that.

Former Western Kentucky outfielder/first baseman Lane Arroyos announced his commitment to Texas A&M , adding his name to what is shaping up to be one of the most competitive lineup battles heading into the 2027 season. Arroyos, WKU’s top offensive performer in 2026, confirmed on social media that he will use his final year of eligibility to take on SEC pitching in College Station.

Arroyos was nothing short of dominant for the Hilltoppers last season, slashing .357/.471/.577 while leading the team in nearly every major offensive category. His 75 hits, 24 doubles, six home runs, and 53 RBI earned him First Team All‑Conference USA honors and a Top‑50 first baseman ranking from D1Baseball.

Given his track record, stretching back to his junior college days and his ability to play both first base and corner outfield, Arroyos projects as a legitimate contender for everyday at‑bats. With so much production departing the roster , his arrival gives the Aggies a seasoned, high‑contact, high‑OBP hitter who should immediately factor into Earley’s plans.

Competition for lineup spots will be fierce in 2027, but Arroyos brings the type of veteran consistency and positional flexibility that Texas A&M needs as it reshapes its offensive identity.
